Children and Youth Summer Reading Program Opened with "Chalk the Walk" on
June 26
We are very excited about our summer reading this year and we hope you will join us. Our theme this year is “Adventure Begins at Your Library” and there are definitely lots of fun adventures planned for all our young patrons!
The excitement kicked off on June 26th when we “Chalked the Walk” for any young patron who comes to the library during that week.
The official program began on Thursday, July 11th at 10 am for our Toddlers and will continue on July 18th, and July 25th. The older kids are meeting on Fridays at 11:00 am and will continue on the 19th and the 26th. However, if you can’t make it on a particular day, we welcome you either time!
We also have our Middle School Reading Club, which will meet at 11:30-12:30 on Tuesdays beginning July 16th and continuing July 23rd and July 30th. The Middle School Reading Club is open to students who will enter the 6th, 7th or 8th grade in the fall and who like to read and to talk about books. Those attending this program will get to find out what others are reading and exchange ideas and information. And eat pizza!
Come by or call the library for more information. Don't miss out. Be part of the adventure.

Kids enjoy Two summer Reading Program sessions each week in July 2023
The summer reading program last summer was divided into two sessions. The Thursday morning session began at 10 am and focused on our younger patrons as we always do on Thursdays with our Toddler Time. Our crafts, games and stories were geared toward the toddlers. The 11:00 am Friday sessions were for a little older group, similar to what we do during our normal Friday Storytime. Some of the activities are pictured below.
What a great time we had at the summer reading program on Friday, July 14. We decorated the three little pigs house and built security fences . Thank goodness we saved all three of the little pigs. Join us for more fun at 11 am for each Friday in July.
On Thursday, July 13 we helped a ladybug who was so grumpy! It
turned out he was just a hungry ladybug. There are two more weeks of summer reading. It’s not o late to join us for all the fun on Thursdays at 10 am.
